Yak & Yeti Restaurant

A true hidden gem nestled in Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Yak & Yeti is a great place to dine for lunch or dinner. As always, the theme throughout the restaurant makes you feel as though you have left the park and entered a restaurant in another country.

There is seating available both up and downstairs.

There is also seating at the bar when you first enter as well.

Upstairs is a little more secluded and quiet, and offers windows to view outside.

Let’s get on to the menu! The adult appetizers include Pork Pot Stickers, Pork Egg Rolls and Firecracker Shrimp just to name a few. Entrees range from Seared Miso Salmon, Bhaktapur Duck, Sweet and Sour Chicken to a Kobe Beef Burger and so much more. To see the most up to date official Disney Dining Menu, click on this link. Don’t forget to switch between lunch and dinner at the top of the page!

For starters, I ordered the Pork Pot Stickers. I am a sucker for pot stickers and will order them if they are on the menu! I chose them pan seared, as I do not like them steamed. This is a choice though! It comes with a Soy Lime Dipping Sauce.

These were SO good that they deserve a closer look:

AND……a cross section!

My hubby ordered the Firecracker Shrimp, which are crispy fried shrimp that are tossed in a spicy, creamy sauce. I just really can’t decide if I like them or the pot stickers better.

For our main course, I chose the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The sauce was perfect, allowing the flavors of the veggies to shine through as well.

Hubby ordered the Bhaktapur Duck which is a roasted half duckling with plus BBQ sauce, jasmine rice and stir-fried veggies. It was cooked perfectly.

We have also enjoyed the Kobe Beef Burger, which is a 10 oz grilled American Kobe beef burger with sesame-soy mayonnaise, with choice of shitake mushrooms, and scallion compote or Asian slaw with crispy shoestring fries on the side.

And of course you have to see the cross section of this monster burger!

Another really, REALLY good entree we have had from there is the coconut shrimp. I’ve had coconut shrimp at many places, but this is honestly my favorite! It comes with jasmine rice, stir-fried vegies and plum BBQ sauce (which is goooood).

If you are like us, and have kids that are not such adventurous eaters, don’t fret! They offer food for even the picky eaters!

IMG_2835

My kids are so picky that there are even some chicken nuggets/tenders that they just do not like. They did enjoy the ones here though!

To finish our meal, the adults each had a slice of New York Cheesecake with mango and strawberry coulis and whipped topping.

The children each had chocolate mousse.

While the cheesecake was good, not many desserts compare to this one. Drum roll please……….. the FRIED WONTONS! Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons with honey-vanilla drizzle, served with a side of vanilla ice cream. This is so yummy that it deserves nothing less than a video:

We have never have one complaint about any of the food that has ever been served to us here. We are always looking forward to our next visit back to Yak & Yeti!
