Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall provides character dining at all three meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. It is located in the Norway Pavilion, a part of the World Showcase within Epcot.
The check in counter is outside the restaurant, there, they will give you a pager that will buzz when you are ready to enter. Be prepared, there are not many places to sit outside, and there are only a few umbrellas as well. If you have advanced dining reservations, you should be taken back fairly quickly.
Once you are paged, you will first meet with Belle, for a special photo opportunity. Belle does not come around to the tables, so this is your chance to get her autograph as well as photos.
The photographers will take one photo, in which you will receive a complimentary print of it during your meal.
Next you will be seated within the castle. Yes, this is a castle that you dine in, just not Cinderella’s Castle. Here is a peek inside:
Your meal will begin with a “Taste of Norway”, a trip to the buffet which includes cold cut meats, salad, cheese and bread.
The main course is your selection of an entrée from the menu.
I chose Pan Seared Salmon with potato and celery hash, Salmon Bacon and Maple Gastrique. It was divine!
My husband had the Roasted Rack of Lamb with Root Vegetable Gratin, Baby Fennel, Lamb Jua and Mint Pesto.
My kids ordered their typical, Salmon.
The princesses made their rounds, we saw
Cinderella
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Snow White
And Ariel
About every 30 minutes, you will see a Princess Processional. This is when all the princesses will take a stroll around the restaurant, along with any kids that want to join in! Snow White walked along with my two, which was awesome since my 5 year old has been obsessed with her for years.
Dessert is a standard dish that includes Chocolate Mousse, Traditional Rice Cream topped with Strawberry Sauce and Apple Cake with Cardamom Whipped Cream.
Personally, I prefer dining at Akershus over Cinderella’s Royal Table. It only deducts one table service credit from your dining plan versus the two that Royal Table will deduct, not to mention my girls enjoy the Princess Processional, which does not take place at Royal Table. This is my youngest daughter’s face every time she saw a princess….priceless!
