  • Sleeps: 3 to 4
  • Size: 246 sq ft
  • Room Configuration: queen bed, single sleeper sofa, and for rooms that sleep 4 there is an upper-berth pull-down bed also.
  • View: private verandah with whitewall

  • Category 6A: Decks 8 and 9
  • Category 6B: Decks 5, 6 and 7

That is a GREAT question that we would love to answer for you! Category 6 staterooms with whitewall are cheaper than Category 5 rooms without the whitewall. Basically these rooms are only at the back (aft) of ship, which is why these staterooms have this whitewall. I have stayed in both stateroom types, and here is a closeup picture of each to show you the difference:

I LOVE a private verandah just as much as I love sipping lemonade from a Mickey cup! In fact, the whitewall verandah makes a nice little area to prop your feet up on!

Now, if you like the idea of not having the whitewall, you can certainly upgrade to a Category 5 stateroom. Or, if you like the idea of a larger verandah, check out Category 5E and Category 4E. If you prefer your room to actually be larger, with a regular sized verandah, check out Category 4. Lastly, if you prefer to have the least expensive verandah, check out Category 7.

Both 6A and 6B have the exact same layout, but are just located on different decks of the ship.

Take a look at our video tour of stateroom 9166, which is a category 6A, located Deck 6 Aft:

Disney Cruise Line has literally thought of everything when it comes to ensuring your family has the best comfort and convenience during your sailing. As you can see in the layout, there is a sitting area, which has a heavy curtain that can be pulled to separate that area from the queen bed. This is great news, since the couch converts to a bed, with the upper-berth pull-down bed above it. That means that the parents can have a little privacy from the kids at night! If you have a family of 4, your stateroom hostess will pull down the upper-berth bed from the ceiling for every evening, and put it back every morning! Once that upper-berth is pulled down, you can see on the ceiling a mural of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy and her brothers flying through the starry sky that the kids are sure to love!

Your stateroom hostess will do this for you!

If you have a 4th guest in the stateroom, this is what the upper berth pull-down bed will look like in the evenings. I’m sure my kids are not the only ones that think that bunk beds are the coolest thing ever!

There is also a full SPLIT bathroom layout, which is AH-MAZING with a family!  One side is a vanity and toilet, the other side is a second vanity with full shower/tub combo. What you can’t see from the layout is that the queen bed frame is elevated, allowing for under-bed storage for suitcases and other large items so they are not in your way, as well storage inside the ottoman!
