Dining at Be Our Guest

by Casey Morris on August 13, 2014

Be Our Guest is the newest restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Breakfast is not offered here, lunch is a Quick Service dining experience, and dinner is considered a Table Service dining. This means no reservations can be made for lunch, but reservations are strongly recommended for dinner. My family has done both lunch and dinner here, I will explain the differences for you.

At arrival, I already felt like I was stepping into part of the movie.

You walk down the bridge to get  into the restaurant. From the bridge, you can see magnificent water falls, as well as intricate details everywhere.

There are three dining rooms within the castle. The Ballroom, The West Wing, and The Rose Gallery.

The Ballroom is absolutely beautiful, but can be quite loud due to all the tables that are there.

The chandeliers are amazing, the picture does not do it justice.

Here is a close up of the side of the Ballroom.

Be sure to walk by the windows and check out the snow fall!

The next room is The West Wing. This room was personally my favorite, BUT I had my 5 and 2 year old daughters with me. Honestly, they are not scared of much. They will happily meet any villain, and in fact, love most of them. With that being said, they were TERRIFIED of The West Wing. What were they so afraid of you ask? If you remember in the movie, The West Wing was the area that was prohibited for Belle to visit. This is where Beast kept the enchanted rose. In this room in the restaurant, the petals will actually fall from the enchanted rose, and about every 20 minutes, thunder will sound, the lights will flicker, and the portrait above the fireplace will turn from the prince’s face, to Beast’s face. I thought this was awesome, but my kids, not so much. If your kids are not huge fans of thunderstorms, I would recommend not sitting in this room.

Here is the area in the back of The West Wing with the enchanted rose, followed by a close up.

This was a view from our table of the fireplace, as you can see, we were very close. This probably played another role in my kids being afraid.

The third, and last room, is The Rose Gallery. Here, there is a huge, rotating display of Beast and Belle dancing. There are pictures of other characters from the movie displayed on the walls.

Close up of Beast and Belle.

Now that you have seen all three dining rooms, lets talk about the differences between lunch and dinner.

As mentioned before, lunch is a Quick Service, which means you walk up and order your food without a reservation. With that being said, this is probably the most popular Quick Service location within all of Walt Disney World. Why is that important to note? Because if you go at “prime lunch time”, typically 12:00 – 1:30, you WILL wait in a long line to get into the restaurant. That long line is not in a shaded area either! Did you know that you can get a Fastpass for lunch here? That’s right, you can “reserve” a time range to arrive here without the long line! I highly recommend doing that, and if you do not, you need to show up for a very early or late lunch to try to avoid those long lines! If you would like more info on how to Fastpass Be Our Guest lunch, please let me know!

Once you arrive for lunch, whether you use Fastpass or wait in line, you will receive an RFID rose.

This rose you will hold onto, until you receive your food. Now, if you Fastpass this lunch, you actually have the capability to pre order your food and beverages as well! Lets say you did not do that, and you will order once you arrive. You will see large menus on the wall, with electronic ordering stations.

Once you place your order, you go to the drink station, get your drinks, and have a seat at any table you choose. This is great, since you get to choose which dining room you would like to sit in! As soon as we sat down, our food arrived. They find you due to the RFID rose you were given!

Now on to the food. Hands down, in my opinion, this is the best Quick Service food in all of Disney! My husband and I both ordered the braised pork. It includes mushrooms, onions, carrots and bacon, served with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was so good!

My kids both ordered the seared Mahi Mahi with fries and applesauce. This was the best they ate all week!

Desserts…..I ordered the Master’s Cupcake. Have you ever heard of the “grey stuff” from the movie? You know in the song, “try the grey stuff, its delicious, don’t believe me, ask the dishes!”. Well, this cupcake has Lumiere’s grey stuff on top, and man was he right!

Here is a cross section of this little slice of Heaven!

My husband ordered the chocolate creme puff. He says it was great, but I was so full, that I did not try this one myself.

Again, cross section:

After you are finished with lunch, you can just head on out of the restaurant, since your bill has been taken care of prior to eating. Now, lets talk about eating dinner here. Dinner is different, and is considered a Table Service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. This also means that they do take advanced dining reservations for dinner, and these reservations are extremely hard to come by. If you do not book it when it becomes available, which is 180 days in advance, the likelihood of getting a dinner reservation is slim….not impossible, but slim.

When you arrive for dinner, here is what the setting at the reserved table looks like. Most likely you will not be able to choose which dining room you will eat in for dinner, since it is by reservation.

SONY DSCThe dinner menu has some slight changes on it from the lunch menu.

I ordered the Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops, which is served in a puff pastry:

My husband ordered the pan seared Salmon:

My kids again ordered the grilled fish of the day, can you tell they love fish?

The desserts are similar, but towards the end of dinner, will be brought out on a cart for you to choose what you would like. The cart is covered, and only the waiter will get out the food, not you. No worries on others touching the desserts!

SONY DSCThis time, I ordered the strawberry cream cheese cupcake:

And my husband requested the triple chocolate cupcake:

Once dinner is over, you will be able to meet and greet with Beast on the way out! This is not available at lunch, only dinner! Beast is not able to sign autographs, his hands are too big!

If you ware wondering why my daughter is wearing a sash, she received that during her pirate makeover at Pirate’s League.

After meeting with Beast, we walked past the Suites of Armour on the way out. Disney left no details out, that is for sure!

We have enjoyed every time we have dined at Be Our Guest! Both lunch and dinner were great, I recommend either, depending on what you are looking for. Here are links to the full menus:
