Columbia Harbour House

Columbia Harbour House is, in my opinion, is a GREAT quick service restaurant in Magic Kingdom! It is located in Liberty Square, just behind Peter Pan’s Flight, and across from Haunted Mansion. I just love how we can enjoy the magic of Fantasyland, and just a few steps away is the unique Liberty Square.

The restaurant is in a two story building. I highly recommend ordering your food, then taking it upstairs. It tends to be much more quiet there, which is always a nice break to have. Here is what the upstairs looked like about 5:30 pm, the week before Christmas.

We were not the only ones there, but there was quite a small crowd. You might ask yourself if the food is good, since it was such a low crowd. I believe that this location is often overlooked, leading to lower crowds at times.

Yes, I even took a picture of the window. I enjoy the theme of restaurants almost as much as the food. I feel like I am stepping straight into Colonial America when entering.

Here is a picture of the menu located outside the building.

And upon entering, you can see a more detailed menu including photos.

If you keep up with my blogs, you know I love seafood. As you might have guessed, I ordered the Grilled Salmon which is served with couscous and steamed fresh broccoli.

The couscous contained small pieces of veggies, and was very tasty. The salmon, ohh the salmon. It was delicious! I am always afraid of seafood at quick service locations, but this never disappoints. Here is a closer view just to show that is was not one bit dry.

My husband ordered the Fried Shrimp Plate, and chose fries and slaw as his side. He enjoyed the shrimp, leaving behind a cleared paper plate!

We took several family members with us on this trip. This is great when it comes to being able to sample and take pictures of their food! 🙂 My sister ordered the Seafood Macaroni and Cheese. Neither of us were big fans of this one. It was not bad, but nothing special about it for sure.

The Lighthouse Sandwich is hummus, tomato and broccoli slaw on toasted multi grain bread. Comes with a side of chips. I did not taste this, so can not give my opinion on it.

Another view of the Lighthouse sandwich, showing the nice crust on the bread:

The Anchors Away sandwich is white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multi grain bread. This is also served with chips.

Next is the Chicken Pot Pie. It had a nice, flaky crust with great flavor. I would order that, IF I didn’t like the salmon so much.

My kids,  once again, ordered the macaroni and cheese. It comes with a yogurt and grapes.

Now for the dessert. It is what I call the “typical chocolate cake”. My family really likes these chocolate cakes. I don’t know if it is due to the cute Mickey shaped sprinkles or not, because personally I do not care for these chocolate cakes. They are served at many of the quick service locations throughout all of Disney property. If you see chocolate cake on the menu somewhere, you are more than likely going to be served something like this.

What I did enjoy was the seasonal cobbler. It happened to be blueberry, which is my favorite! They also will offer peach and apple.

The top is drizzled with a vanilla sauce, which really added some extra goodness! Here is a shot of the inside.
